XSR Superboat: 002 Unveiled at Monaco Yacht Show
The latest production XSR – the world’s fastest diesel production Superboat – is unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show (24-27 Sept: JT12 / TS6). The first boat was delivered to her owner in August on the Cote d’Azur, where it has been the fastest and most exhilarating way to beat the traffic jams of Supercars between Monaco and St Tropez!

Dubbed "the most beautiful thing ever created by man" by BBC Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the XSR Superboat, a product of XSMG World, also has the distinction of having won the prestigious Condé Nast Traveller Innovation & Design Award for transport 2008.. Uniquely combining the DNA and performance of a supercar with superyacht detailing, four further production boats are in build at XSMG World's new centre of excellence near Southampton, UK – a 1,700m2 state-of-the-art factory.

Priced at £1.3m, the 48ft XSR is one of the world's most technologically-advanced and safest high speed craft; with an immensely strong monocoque hull/deck structure manufactured in Kevlar/carbon-fibre, that allows a cabin space, uncluttered by the conventional stringers, to be 40% more spacious, an effect enhanced by a special glass roof to create a light and airy atmosphere inside.

This platform enables the XSR Superboat to deliver a driving experience that can only be defined as remarkable; finite handling, extraordinary cornering, and rough sea capability. The XSR is powered by twin bi-turbo diesel engines delivering an awe-inspiring 1600bhp means the XSR Superboat is capable of speeds of 70 knots in standard form and gives unrivalled mid-range acceleration. The XSR redefines the experience of speed on water. But performance is only half the story, The sentiment of unadulterated performance continues with the interior; clean lines and technical materials have displaced usual powerboat aesthetics, giving the cockpit a cosseted Supercar feel. The perception of light and space has been carefully considered throughout the cabin, and below deck the illumination, forms and material choice create a welcoming environment.

"The XSR48 is a union between the world's top designers, engineers and craftsmen to create the perfect platform for harnessing state of the art design, technology and ultimate power. It offers extraordinary performance, and characteristics that will exceed the expectations of the owner. It truly is a supercar on water" said Ian Sanderson, CEO and Founder, XSMG World.
